Last week was so fascinating because of CES(Consumer Electronics Show). In this popular tech event, big tech companies reveal their new-generation products and innovations that we could think of. CES 2024 was all about artificial intelligence; we saw so many advancements in AI. Many new AI products have been launched, and many new prototypes have opened up for the general public. From transparent displays to AI-powered holograms, from AI processors to OpenAI and Volkswagen collaboration, we will catch up on every significant AI update of the last week.

CES 2024 AI Highlights 🤖🔥

Ces

1. The world’s first transparent TVs

Samsung and LG, two big tech giants, demonstrated the world’s first transparent TVs. Samsung uses micro LEDs made from non-organic compounds and doesn’t require any backlight to produce images. Meanwhile, LG uses OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology for razor-thin displays with rich colors and blacks. Both display technologies have been used for several years but have evolved for a transparent display.

2. Companies collaborated at CES

  • The renowned car company Volkswagen has partnered with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into their electric vehicles (EVs). The AI chatbot aims to enhance navigation and control features in EVs. The deployment is scheduled to commence in mid-2024.
  • The e-commerce giant Amazon has collaborated with Character.ai(an AI company that offers to make different characters with the help of AI). This collaboration will bring new innovations in Amazon Alexa, like new conversational AI voices of the different characters and AI features.
  • The famous retail chain company, “Walmart,” has collaborated with Amazon to incorporate AI features into its offline stores. By leveraging AI technology, Walmart can efficiently manage its inventory and strategically place products to enhance the overall customer shopping experience.
  • Hyundai has collaborated with Samsung to develop “Home-to-Car” and “Car-to-Home” services for Kia and Hyundai vehicles. The integration of Samsung AI in their platform allows users to control their car’s temperature, windows, and charging status from smart devices.

3. LG launched an AI processor and AI smart home agents

LG launched an AI smart home agent under their “Zero Labour Home” initiative. It is a two-legged robot powered by a Generative AI-powered robot trained on massive datasets of LG products. It can easily be connected with all your LG appliances such as refrigerator, oven, washing machine, etc. The robot has a face and user recognition, so its responses and communications are tailored to individual home members. A generative AI large language model powers it, so you can chat with it while you’re, say, baking a cake. Not only this, but LG also launched their Alpha 11 AI-powered processor that will generate a better image output for LG TVs by adjusting the color and other crucial parameters with the help of AI.
