- On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, Macy’s will release a series of parade-themed non-fungible tokens (NFTs), with sales going to charity, the firm said Friday.
- Sweet’s NFT marketplace, which is built on the Polygon blockchain, will sell the collection of 9,500 NFTs. While the NFTs will be free to produce, 10% of the proceeds from their resale will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
- Some of the parade’s iconic, huge balloons from the 1920s will be on display at the NFTs.
For the first time in history, Macy’s is launching 10 ultra-rare NFTs to commemorate the approaching New York Thanksgiving Day Parade. The 9,510 digital animations, which included everything from balloons to inflatable critters, bring the Macy’s Parade to life. In addition, the collectibles will be available in three levels of rarity: Classic, Rare, and Ultra Rare. On November 19, a special charity auction of ten Epic Macy’s Parade NFTs was held.

Collectors will be able to grab one of the generative NFTs for free on November 25th at 10:00 a.m. ET while watching the New York City parade. The procedure is straightforward: first-come, first-served! Furthermore, through November 30th, anybody may enter an exclusive contest for a chance to win $10,000!
REOMETRY, a digital firm helmed by NFT artists REO and Seth Brown, created the NFTs, which were inspired by “Macy’s archival and creative content.”
One of ten legendary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon designs from the parade’s 95-year history is included in the historic artworks.
Notably, each NFT has a one-of-a-kind design. The highest offer has crossed $2,000 as of this writing, and it will most certainly go much higher until Tuesday evening.
“We were struck by the unique place the parade holds in pop culture, always evolving and reflecting the greatest characters and artists of each generation,” Will Coss, the parade’s executive producer, stated in a press release. “To celebrate that history, we created art in a new form through NFTs that would bring the magic of the parade to a new generation and simultaneously while raising funds for our partner Make-A-Wish.”
Macy’s partnership with specialized platform Sweet not only ensures that the firm prioritizes the demands of its customers, but it also provides an environmentally sustainable alternative to NFT trading.
As a consequence, all Macy’s Thanksgiving NFTs will be carbon-neutral and simple to get, sell, or exchange. The collection is notable for being developed on the Polygon blockchain, which is a long-term sustainable solution.
