  • Twitter updated a feature that lets users check the value of stocks or cryptocurrency.
  • Details of the collaboration between Twitter and Robinhood, have not been made public.

Twitter, a social networking site, has introduced a new crypto tool that enables users to look up the price of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) by just entering their names or tickers into the search bar. The Twitter Business account unveiled the new feature on December 21, which is an improvement over “$Cashtags.”

With this integration, users may enter the ticker symbols for stocks or cryptocurrencies to see the current price and a price chart. A link labeled “View on Robinhood” can be found in the lower left-hand corner of the price charts, demonstrating that Twitter and the retail trading platform worked together to create this connection.

The user is then sent to the Robinhood ETH price chart, which has a link that says “Sign Up to Buy Ethereum” beneath it. The same links are available for Bitcoin as well. The specifics of the partnership between Twitter and Robinhood are not yet disclosed.

The account mentioned that if one tweets the symbol of a significant stock, exchange-traded fund(ETF), or crypto with $ in front of it, customers would be able to see a clickable link that takes them to search results that now feature the pricing graphs for such symbols. Additionally, it said that by merely inputting the ticker symbol for stock or cryptocurrency, you may view the price graph.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, posted the news of the latest feature shortly after it was announced, stating that it was: “one of many product upgrades coming to financial Twitter.

The only two cryptocurrencies that appear to have price charts at this moment are BTC and ETH. Other well-known cryptocurrencies, such as Musk’s favorite Dogecoin, did not make the cut. Twitter Business announced that it plans to enhance user experience and broaden its symbol coverage “in the coming weeks.”
