Leading hardware wallet provider, Blockstream, has raised alarm bells about a new email phishing campaign attempting to target Blockstream Jade hardware wallet users.

Taking to X, the company stated that in this type of email phishing campaign, the scammer leveraged fraudulent emails that pretend to offer firmware updates and then trick the user into downloading malicious files.

Blockstream noted that the email had a message asking recipients to download the latest version of Blockstream Jade wallet firmware by clicking on a malicious link.

Issuing precaution, the firm stated that it never sends firmware files through email. No data has been compromised because of the email phishing campaign, Blockstream’s statement noted.

The major objective behind crypto email phishing is to deceive recipients into disclosing sensitive credentials, including private keys, seed phrases, or login information, or to lure them into clicking links that result in financial theft. Scammers often target people by posing as renowned crypto firms, either setting up fake websites with almost similar URL addresses to legitimate exchanges or by sending fake communications to users.

Another report by Hacken points out that over $3.1 billion was lost due to scams and hacks in the first half of 2025, raising concerns.
