Key Takeaways

  • Binance has announced a new collaboration with the Brazilian soccer body.
  • The cryptocurrency supplier will be the official cryptocurrency sponsor of four championships regulated by the Confederaço Brasileira de Futebol (CBF).
  • This partnership will be a three-year-long commitment to associate Binance brands with the competitors.

Binance is sponsoring four elite football tournaments: the Brasileiro Assa, Brasileiro Female Neoenergia, Brasileiro Female A-2, and Brasileiro Female A-3. This three-year partnership will entail Binance’s brand being associated with these competitions, as well as Fan Tokens that will reward interactive users and NFTs.

“Sport is an important driver for inclusion in society. With football being strongly linked to Brazilian identity and culture, our partnership with CBF is important to help expand crypto adoption and generate a positive impact for our users, the crypto and blockchain community, and society as a whole in Brazil,” says Changpeng Zhao, Binance CEO, and Founder.

Binance announced in March that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding to acquire Simpaul Investimentos, a Brazilian exchange. To be successful, the transaction must be approved by regulatory authorities, primarily Brazil’s Central Bank. The move aimed to expand the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem in Brazil.

Changpeng Zhao, stated: “We believe that Binance has a lot to contribute to developing the community and ecosystem in Brazil in full collaboration with local authorities. At Binance, we aim to increase crypto acceptance around the world in order to benefit our users, the crypto and blockchain ecosystems, and society in general..”

Binance has already supported the Paulisto Sicredi and Santos Futebol Clube in Brazilian sports. Moreover, Binance sponsors the African Cup of Nations, the largest football competition on the continent, as well as the European football teams Porto (Portugal) and Lazio (Italy). They also partner with the F-1 team Alpine.

Earlier this week Binance became the topic of discussion as it achieved another milestone. Binance France has been granted a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) registration by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). With this milestone achievement, Binance marks its first DASP in Europe and demonstrates our commitment to being a compliance-first exchange.
