On October 27, Ava Labs announced its partnership with Japanese gaming giant BLRD, to launch the first Web3 game in 2023.
The move aims to accelerate BLRD’s growth in the blockchain gaming sector.BLRD is the subsidiary of renowned gaming company GREE, which was behind developing renowned games such as Naruto and Final Fantasy. BLRD has a rich experience developing renowned WEB2 games, and the firm has also worked with other top gaming companies, including Square Enix, Sega, Konami, and Bandai Namco
Through this strategic partnership, Ava Labs will help drive BLRD’s growth in the blockchain gaming sector, providing technical, marketing, business, and ecosystem support. As per the official announcement, BLRD also plans to work with Ava Labs and the Avalanche Foundation on other projects, including joint investments with the Blizzard Avalanche Fund.
“BLRD will contribute to improving the performance, security, and decentralization of the Avalanche blockchain through validator node operation and will distribute games on the Avalanche blockchain,” the official press release reads.
Commenting on the latest development, Eiji Araki, Director at BLRD, said, “I’m excited by the potential of the Avalanche network and its ecosystem. We will deliver a brand new game which will be enjoyed by players for long years as we have done in web2 games.”
Ed Chang, Head of Gaming at Ava Labs, spoke on what the partnership entails: “GREE has a decade-plus track record of making games that players love with timeless IP.
