Argentina is collaborating with El Salvador’s government to take advantage of its experience with Bitcoin adoption and other crypto initiatives.

According to a formal statement from CNV, the National Securities Commission (CNV), Argentina’s securities regulator, met with the National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) of El Salvador to discuss the acceptance and regulation of crypto in both nations.

CNAD president Juan Carlos Reyes, CNV vice president Patricia Boedo, and CNV president Roberto Silva reviewed El Salvador’s experience as the first nation in the world to accept Bitcoin as legal cash in September 2021 during their meeting on May 23.

The authorities discussed methods and ideas for implementing crypto in international economies, emphasizing El Salvador’s Bitcoin situation.

El Salvador, according to CNV President Silva, has not only become a global leader in the adoption of Bitcoin, but it has also performed very well in the larger crypto market. He emphasized the value of the industry insights gathered by CNAD, the body in charge of monitoring and controlling El Salvador’s digital asset market. Silva said:

โ€œWe want to strengthen ties with the Republic of El Salvador, and therefore, we are going to explore the possibility of signing collaboration agreements with them.โ€

When visiting El Salvador in March to take part in meetings on market growth, CNV vice president Boedo underlined the vital role that El Salvador’s crypto industry experience plays. The official Reyes of El Salvador said:

โ€œArgentina is a pioneer in technology and the National Securities Commission understands and wants to work with the industry efficiently and create appropriate regulation,โ€

The announcement coincides with Argentina’s efforts to regulate the domestic crypto sector and approve legislation requiring crypto companies to register in April. Since Javier Milei, a politician who supports crypto, was elected president of Argentina in late 2023, the nation has been actively pursuing crypto.
