Over the last two years, the crypto sphere has seen increased adoption. The crypto market thrived as the world moved toward digitalization during a deadly pandemic. Governments worldwide began to see the potential of crypto as soon as significant tech companies began to use it. With thousands of platforms already accepting cryptocurrency, the industry may soon gain another feather in its cap.

Brian Chesky, the CEO of the online hospitality company Airbnb, took to Twitter earlier this week to solicit feedback from his followers on the company’s plans for 2022. Chesky noted that cryptocurrencies had topped the list, despite receiving over 4,000 suggestions. Crypto Twitter worked its magic once again and urged Chesky to unable crypto payments.

While Chesky hasn’t confirmed anything, he did say that most of the items on the list, such as transparent price displays and updated cleaning fees, were already in the works. Additionally, in an interview with Fox Business, Chesky revealed that Airbnb received a slew of proposals regarding cryptocurrency payments for years. He did not, however, make any major announcements about it.

The Airbnb CEO also mentioned that he had skimmed over a few token ideas in the same thread. As a result, there was a good chance that multiple crypto assets would be included in Airbnb’s payment system. Airbnb currently accepts payments via Apple Pay, Google Pay, MasterCard, Visa, and PayPal.

Even though no official information has been released, the community has speculated integrating specific cryptocurrencies. Because Bitcoin [BTC] is the most popular cryptocurrency, its inclusion in Airbnb isn’t surprising. In addition, the growing popularity of meme coins like Shiba Inu [SHIB] and Dogecoin [DOGE] would give them a place in the firm.

In addition, Chesky revealed that the company had processed $336 billion in payments since 2013. With over 150 million users, incorporating cryptocurrency into its system could be a game-changer for Airbnb and the crypto market.
