Uphold Card — Quick Summary
Uphold relaunched its US Visa debit card in October 2025 after pausing the previous US card program in March 2023. The new card lets you spend any of 300+ supported assets (crypto, fiat, metals) and earn XRP cashback. Two tiers: Essential (free, up to 4% XRP back) and Elite ($99.99/year, up to 6% XRP back). No ATM or foreign transaction fees on Elite. Works with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
UK users have the Optimus Mastercard — also 0% foreign transaction fees, spend any Uphold-held asset anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Staking reinstated in UK in February 2025 following UK’s updated Financial Services and Markets Act allowing crypto staking.
