BKEX Review: Exchange Shut Down May 2023

Share IT

🚨 MEXC HAS SHUT DOWN — May 2023. MEXC’s website went offline in May 2023 following a legal investigation announcement. The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) issued a public warning about MEXC. There has been no communication from the platform since then. The exchange is permanently closed and users have reported being unable to withdraw funds. Do not use any service claiming to be MEXC.

MEXC — What Happened

MEXC was a centralized crypto exchange founded in 2018 and headquartered in the British Virgin Islands. It offered spot, derivatives, OTC trading, staking, and mining across 1,200+ coins. In mid-May 2023, MEXC sent a notice citing an “ongoing legal investigation” as the reason for suspending operations. Following this notice, the website went down and has remained inaccessible.

The MAS issued a public warning about MEXC, citing concerns about lack of transparency including no disclosed address or regulatory registration. Multiple users have reported being unable to withdraw funds since the closure. No creditor resolution plan or user reimbursement process was ever announced.

⚡ Bottom Line: MEXC shut down in May 2023 under a legal investigation cloud with a MAS warning. If you had funds on MEXC, those funds are likely unrecoverable. Use Binance, OKX, or KuCoin as safer alternatives.
