- Samsung will add ‘groundbreaking’ NFT support to TVs in 2022.
- Through MICRO LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame, the NFT support provides an accessible, integrated platform for discovering, acquiring, and trading digital artwork.
Samsung announced groundbreaking TV support for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), beginning with its 2022 TV lineup on Monday, as the use of Blockchain-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs) gathers traction around the world, including in India.
Through MICRO LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame, the NFT support provides an accessible, integrated platform for discovering, acquiring, and trading digital artwork.
“With the growing demand for NFTs, the need for a solution to today’s fragmented watching and purchase landscape has never been greater.”
“In 2022, Samsung will launch the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator, a groundbreaking platform that allows you to browse, purchase, and show your favourite art — all in one location,” according to the company.
The NFT platform will allow artists to share their work with the world, as well as allow potential customers to “sample an NFT before purchasing it and learn about the history and Blockchain information of an NFT.” The company will provide additional information regarding the NFT platform in the following months.
NFTs are digital assets that have been around for a long time, but cryptocurrency and crypto-art have gotten a new lease on life in the last few months. It enables anyone to buy and trade ownership of one-of-a-kind digital things in cryptocurrencies, as well as keep track of who owns them using the Blockchain.
Anything digital, including paintings, artworks, tweets, animated GIFs, songs, and even video games, can technically be included in these.
This platform, according to Samsung, will allow producers to “share their art with the world” and potential customers to:
- Before you buy an NFT, please take a look at it first.
- Learn about the history of an NFT as well as blockchain metadata.
You’ve probably heard of Dolby Vision and Netflix Calibrated Mode, and now NFTs are getting the same treatment.
When watching NFTs on Samsung’s 2022 televisions, the company also pays attention to the finer points. The TVs’ innovative calibration technology will adapt display settings “to the creator’s preset values, so you can have peace of mind that your work appears immaculate, with true-to-the-original image quality,” said the company.
As the 2022 TVs begin selling in the coming months, more information about the NFT platform should become available. However, with today’s announcement, Samsung has become the first major TV maker to support NFTs fully.
