  • AMC theater is all set to let its customers buy tickets in cryptocurrency.
  • Customers will be able to use Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and other virtual currencies.

Every industry and community is doing their part to promote crypto into the mainstream. The entertainment industry is also embracing the idea. In August last year, AMC theatres announced that they would start accepting cryptocurrency by year-end. Customers were able to use digital currencies like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu tokens, and others to get movie tickets.

The CEO of AMC, Adam Aron, declared that in the US crypto payments are accepted only via Bitpay. The theater received a good response from its customers as soon as crypto payments accounted for 14 percent of their total online transactions.

After this news broke, Elon Musk tweeted that the Dogecoin transaction fee must be dropped so that people can use it for buying things like movie tickets. Currently, the average Dogecoin gas fee is almost $0.386, approximately Rs 30.

Last year in November, Regal cinemas also announced that they would be accepting digital currencies as payments and would allow their customers to pay in Ethereum and Litecoin.

The chief marketing officer at Regal, Ken Thewes, said, “As more of our customers demand digital asset solutions and safer payment methods, we are grateful to have found a partner in Flexa.”
