Ftx Buys Super Bowl Ad, To Promote Crypto To 92M Tv Audience

According to speculations, FTX, the thriving cryptocurrency and crypto derivatives exchange created by Sam Bankman Fried, just acquired an ad for next year’s Super Bowl. In addition, FTX purchased an unknown sum for an ad in the next NFL Super Bowl, apparently capitalizing on the game’s high viewership.

The Super Bowl is consistently the highest-rated TV programme of the year, accounting for 28 of the top 30 highest-rated broadcasts in U.S. television history.

FTX has booked an ad time for the forthcoming Super Bowl LVI, held on February 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. However, the transaction did not mention how much was paid for or what the content would be.

“We’re inviting everyone to check it out, and here to help them on their journey. There is no bigger, more mainstream event to share a message like that than the Super Bowl,”  “Our message throughout this year has been that crypto is safe, accessible, and ready for the mainstream.” Bankman-Fried commented.

The Super Bowl ad would provide FTX with the opportunity to be presented to a potential audience of 91 million people. Sam Bankman Fried has done the math. According to statements obtained by Business Insider, the CEO of FTX believes that the sports industry is the ideal breeding environment for new users.

“Sports fans are 2x more likely to know about crypto than nonsports fans. Avid sports fans are nearly 3x as likely.”

After teaming with NBA great Steph Curry and purchasing the Miami Heat’s home court rights and renaming it the FTX Arena, FTX appears to be attempting to cover all bases in sports. They have also become Major League Baseball’s official exchange (MLB).

In June, FTX announced a long-term agreement with seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bรผndchen that includes an equity position in the firm and payment in cryptocurrency for their services, including the TV commercial.

Coinbase is also attempting to get a piece of the action by partnering with the NBA. In addition, Coinbase has the unique distinction of being the only licenced exchange in the United States with publicly listed shares.

Cryptocurrencies seem to aspire to become a worldwide phenomenon by 2021, and the world of sports appears to be the ideal on-ramp for the business.
